Wayne Gillespie –Vice Chair of Operations
Wayne Gillespie grew up at a time in our community when hard work and perseverance led to a path of success. A small town, blue-collar worker, Wayne followed such a path to become widely respected in the Printing and Bindery industry at a national level. Known for his ethical business practices and high level of expertise, Mr. Gillespie owned and operated GH Bindery, Inc. in Dallas for over 30 years. He assisted many other small business owners establish their business and provide advice to assist in launching their success. After closing the doors on his industrial career, Mr. Gillespie joined the Winfree Academy Charter Schools staff for six years as a Career Preparation Aide, assisting students find jobs within the Dallas/Fort-Worth metroplex and performing work-site evaluations. Mr. Gillespie retired from his career at Winfree Academy Charter Schools in June 2014, however, continues to serve as a Board Member.
As a founding Board Member, Wayne Gillespie has the longest tenure of any board member having served Winfree Academy Charter Schools since its doors opened in 1997
Kelley Moore – Vice Chair of Special Programs
Kelley Moore began her career in service to others by serving our country as a member of our nation’s most elite fighting force, the United States Marine Corps. where she developed the values necessary to succeed in any environment and began to truly believe that each of us possesses a deep, internal wisdom that allows us to access the resources we need at exactly the right time to achieve whatever mission we choose.
As a Performance Coach, Ms. Moore works with key executives to recognize, accept and develop their inherent potential and see their unique possibilities. Her specialty is supporting these powerful leaders as they acquire the knowledge, skills and wisdom that enables them to be more productive, self-directed and passionate in their personal and professional lives. A former non-profit executive, an award-winning sales and marketing consultant, a business owner, a Professional Behaviors and Values Analyst, and a Mom to two active and creative girls, Kelley brings a blend of education, insight, sound principles, and FUN that is crucial to success in today’s business environment.
Kelley Moore joined the Board of Directors in May of 2011.
June Shrewsbury – Secretary
June Shrewsbury recently retired as the Vice President of Technical Services, Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control after 27 years of leadership in program and general management. Her line of business at Missiles and Fire Control provided logistics, security and engineering services to a broad set of government customers.
Ms. Shrewsbury previously led a business area that provided information technology solutions for customers engaged in law enforcement and homeland security including programs such as, FBI Next Generation Identification, TSA Special Security Training and TSA Human Capital Solutions.
Over the course of her career, Ms. Shrewsbury led a variety of aircraft production and modernization programs including F-16 production, C-5 modernization and modification and sustainment programs for commercial and military aircraft supporting both domestic and international customers.
In addition to program management, Ms. Shrewsbury held executive leadership positions in general management over multiple company functional organizations.
June Shrewsbury joined the Board of Directors in March 2013.
Greg Ward – Treasurer
Gregory M. Ward, President of Alliance Benefit Services, LLC, has over twenty years’ experience in the insurance industry.
He is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, The National Association of Health Underwriters and the Association of Health Insurance Agents. Additionally, he has served on the board of the local NAIFA Chapter.
Greg is married with two children and has resided in the Dallas area since 1985. He is a member and past president of the Prestonwood Rotary Club and is active in his church and numerous community organizations.
Greg Ward joined the Board of Directors in September 2006.
Adriana Gomez retired from public education in 2009 after 34 years of service. She served as a principal at the elementary level for 17 years and was the founding principal of the Early College High School with Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD in partnership with Brookhaven College from 2006-2009. She currently serves as a member of the Clinical Faculty at Southern Methodist University in the Department of Leadership and Education Policy supervising students enrolled in the Accelerated School Leadership Program.
Adriana Gomez joined the Board of Directors in March 2014.
Mark Long, Senior Campaign Manager with TXU-Energy, was introduced to Winfree Academy Charter Schools in October 2012 when he served as “Principal for a Day” at the Irving Campus through the Execupal Program with the Irving Chamber of Commerce. Knowing that he had found a home with Winfree, Mr. Long then sought out ways to support the school. He first joined the Winfree Schools Foundation and served as Vice Chair of Development for 1 ½ years. As his involvement with the school grew, he continued to seek out ways to more directly impact the lives of Winfree Academy students.
Mr. Long, recently retired from the Winfree School Foundation, joined the Winfree Academy Board of Directors in March 2014.
