Immunizations

All students must be immunized against certain diseases or must present a certificate signed by a doctor stating that for medical reasons, the student should not be immunized. Proof of immunization may be personal records by a licensed physician or public health clinic with a signature or rubber stamp validation.  Students who do not present current health/immunization documentation within 30 calendar days of enrollment may be withdrawn. Click below for information on immunization requirements for the 2014-2015 school year.

Texas state law requires every student be compliant and up to date on all immunizations. All immunizations should be completed by the first date of attendance. A student may be enrolled provisionally if their immunization record indicates they have received at least one dose of each vaccine required by this law.

To remain enrolled, the student must receive the state required immunizations. Your school nurse will review the immunization status of a provisionally enrolled student every 30 days to ensure continued compliance in completing the required dose of vaccines.

The school nurse will notify the parent by mail of any non compliance. Upon the receipt of the letter, the student will have 15 calendar days to receive the immunization and present proper documentation to the school nurse. After the 14 days, if the school nurse has not received documentation of the immunization, a final letter will be sent out. Upon which the student will have an additional 15 calendar days to receive the immunization and provide proper documentation. The final letter will also include a student withdraw date. If the documentation is not received on or before the withdraw date, the student will be withdrawn from school.

If a student has been withdrawn due to non compliance of immunizations, they may reenroll only after they have met the state immunization requirements and have provided the school with proper documentation.

Immunizations can be obtained from your health care provider or county immunization clinics. To find an immunization clinic near you, please visit the following links listed below.
